Our Healthcare History

Sykes Assistance Services Corporation (SASC) is celebrating more than 11 years of success in providing the highest quality telehealth services backed by caring professionals and state of the art technology.

Clinidata Corporation was acquired by SASC in 1999.  In 2006 Clinidata became a division of SASC and we began to immediately see cross-divisional benefits in the areas of technology, workforce management, human resources and finance.  In the summer of 2008, Sykes decided to formally brand its healthcare solutions under the Sykes Assistance name.   

Roots

Clinidata’s roots were developed in the clinic, and Sykes TeleHealth continues to build upon these strong roots. It is by emulating the attention to quality and adherence to standards of a clinical environment that Sykes has risen to the highest levels in the delivery of telehealth services.  SASC teams have always strived to meet or exceed existing standards and expectations set by our stakeholders and customers. Where those standards have not existed we have engaged the health community and integrated the most efficient technology in a process to create them.  Based on this approach to excellence Sykes has become an acknowledged world leader in the provision of health information and healthcare advice providing healthcare to over 18 million people and handling more than 1.5 million calls per year. 

Scope

 

With over 400 professional nurses across our ten telehealth centres, SASC is the largest health line service provider in Canada, and among the top five providers of nurse tele-triage in the world.  Powered by leading edge technology, SASC expands access to primary healthcare and helps facilitate the empowerment of the populations we serve.  At Sykes, we work closely with our customers to develop custom services that contribute to a strong healthcare system.  Our primary care triage lines, chronic disease self management services, lifestyle support programs, public health support programs, pharmaceutical support services, benefits and corporate health management programs have all been designed in collaboration with our customers, to meet the challenges of efficiently delivering health care in the new millennium.  For example, as provider of services such as Telehealth Ontario, Tele-Care New Brunswick, the NWT Tele-Care HealthLine, the Newfoundland and Labrador HealthLine, and the Canadian Forces Health Information Line, we have set the benchmark for effective and efficient health service delivery in Canada.
