Sykes to Present at International Mobility Forum
May 04, 2009
Sykes Assistance Services Corporation is pleased to announce its participation in the International Mobility Forum, which is an exclusive, invitation only event that will be presented by Research In Motion (RIM) as part of WES 2009: The Wireless Enterprise Symposium for BlackBerry® Users. The event is scheduled to take place on May 05th, 2009 in Orlando, Florida and is designed to bring together an impressive line-up of speakers who will share their experiences regarding mobile technology and how it is transforming the healthcare industry.
Robyn Fulkerson, Program Director from London, Ontario will discuss Sykes Assistance Services current program, studying people who are at risk for Diabetes and how the impacts of self monitoring and increased activity levels will positively impact their health.
This program, where Sykes has collaborated with Lawson Research of the University of Western Ontario and Gateway Research Health Research Institute is designed for a Sykes Case Manager to set up patient care plans, monitor ongoing activities and receive alerts if readings are outside of normal expectations. If readings are outside a normal range, the Sykes Case Manager will notify the appropriate physicians and Lawson Researchers immediately so the individual can receive appropriate care. Other partners of this project include Research In Motion, Healthanywhere and Bell Canada.
Fulkerson will sit on a panel engaged to look at remote monitoring from a practical application of technology perspective. Also speaking at the Forum will be Research In Motions co-CEO’s Dr. Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie on their vision for the BlackBerry® solutions role in Healthcare.
Robyn Fulkerson’s work on this project has also recently appeared in Technology Improves Healthcare Delivery, a Toronto Star article. The full article can be found at http://www.healthzone.ca/health/article/597299.
