Sykes Assistance Services Celebrates Nurses Week 2009
Making up its largest group of professionals, Nurses play an impactful role at Sykes Assistance Services on a minute by minute basis. Over 400 Nurses are employed by the company, and the organization’s Nurses are always there to listen to, assess and assist their callers each and every day. In addition, Nurses at Sykes play important roles in education, human resources, and front line, site and corporate management.
Sykes Assistance Services is proud to celebrate Nursing Week again in 2009 and pay tribute to hard working Nurses not only within the organization, but throughout the country. Events this year to celebrate Nursing Week will include theme days, prizes, special meals, snacks, puzzles and activities of the day.
Nursing Week began in 1971 whereby the International Council of Nurses designated May 12th as International Nursing Day in recognition of Florence Nightingales birthday. In 1985, in recognition of the hard work, achievements and dedication of Nurses across the country, the federal minister of health announced the second week of May as National Nursing Week in Canada.
Sykes is pleased to honor its team of hard working, dedicated and caring Nurses.
