Telephone Triage
Sykes Assistance Services Corporation offers Symptom Management programs to both the private and public sectors. With six telehealth centres and over 300 Registered Nurses on staff, this Telephone Triage and Health Information service is available 24 hours, 7 days a week via a client specific toll free telephone number. Our programs incorporate accessible, practical and medically validated health information and symptom triage to support individuals and families and to help them make informed decisions about their healthcare.
The goal of the program is to help people become more confident in their ability to make health decisions and to provide them with just-in-time education, the combination of which empowers them to take care of themselves or their loved ones. Other documented benefits of the program include the ability to reach out to large populations making sure that the right person sees the right healthcare provider at the right time and place.
The Health Education Service provides information about health conditions, treatments, diagnostic tests, medications, self-care interventions, illness or injury prevention, wellness promotion and community-based resources.
Our Nurses are supported by an electronic clinical decision support application that provides approved clinical guidelines, health information, targeted care advice and a service referral database to assess symptoms and assist callers in making the most appropriate healthcare decision.
Translation services are provided in more than 100 languages and TTY is available for the hearing impaired.
