Sykes Assistance Services Corporation is collaborating with Lawson Research of the University of Western Ontario and Gateway Research Health Research Institute to study the impacts of patient self monitoring of vital signs to improve health outcomes. Sykes Assistance Services is contributing its capabilities to provide 24/7 monitoring and decision support and has partnered with Healthanywhere, Bell Canada, and Research in Motion to provide the monitoring technology, software and data plans to support the project.

Sykes Assistance Services is gearing up for a very active role at this year’s American Telemedicine Association (ATA) annual international meeting and exposition in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Jim Murphy, Vice President of Business Development and Quality at Sykes will be participating in an Executive Roundtable Discussion geared towards the future of telemedicine from a corporate perspective.  The session “Recent Corporate Expansion into the Telehealth Arena: What the Trend Means for the Industry”, will allow Jim to present many of his insights, thoughts and recommendations from over 25 years in the Healthcare Industry.  The discussion will focus on the steady increase in the acquisition of smaller telehealth companies by large multinational corporations and what this means to the future of the industry.
